These eggs are from the LARGER STOCK TEXAS A & M QUAIL of then refered to by others as "ORIGINAL" They are truely a much bigger bird than the average A&M coturnix.

TEXAS A & M QUAIL ARE A VERY GENTLE BREED AND ARE FAIRLY EASY TO RAISE.
They also mature very rapidly. They will be laying between 6 to 8 weeks of age.
My birds are all raised on wire and are fed a very good grade of Game Bird feed.
I can not guarentee what your hatch rate will be as there are too many variables with incubation procedures.
If you keep your incubator set at 99.5 degrees F and keep a close eye on the water so the humidity is good you should have a very good hatch rate. These eggs hatch out in 18 days and you stop turning on the 14th day of incubation.
Make sure you grind the feed to the size of Corn Meal so it is easy for them to eat.
I also recommend using Electrolytes in the water to ensure they are good and healthy.
Keep the brooder set at about 98 degrees for the first week and you can lower the temperature about 5 degrees per week.
The A&M's are not nearly as wild acting as the Bob Whites actually they are very docile birds.
One question that is always asked is, "How do you tell them apart?" As the birds have the same appearance the easiest way is to listen to them the males will have a very distinctive crow and the females sound is much quieter an more mellow sounding.
