The Warec processes data from a Directional Waverider buoy as received over the HF link. All Directional Waverider supported.
Antenna and serial port can be daisy chained resulting in economical use of antenna and allowing one PC to control eight Warecs sequentially.
Reliability is obtained using an error correcting code and redundancy of cyclically transmitted data. Transmission errors can be detected to a high degree. Maximum 2 transmission errors per 64 bits can be corrected.
Communications is through RS232 with jumper selectable baud rate 300 - 2400. Data transfer to a PC is controlled by eight commands.
The Warec will collect and sort data continuously over the half hour buoy measurement cycle.
Real time data at a rate of 1.28 Hz or spectral data sets can be selected.
