This unit looks like something that was put in a closet since 1989 and forgotten and never used at the VA Palo Alto Ca. It is beyond me why it says Psychiatry Service 116A3 but maybe that was the only place that still had money in their budget till 4 o'clock that day. Typical government wasteful spending of your tax dollars. I was in USAF PMEL so I know this system very well.
This unit will do every function needed to calibrate an audiometer except Bone but you can hook a mastoid to this and program in correction factors. The people that have learned how to use this love it but I am old school and prefer my Banana 155 meter and an AA-175. This mic alone sells from ACO for 800.00 and this mic is flawless. Usually the biomedical department of the VA would use this but it probably never left the Hospital. How they could justify a purchase like this to calibrate 3 or 4 Audiometers is beyond me. My meters have paid for themselves many times over. I think this sold for about 5000.00 in 1989 dollars.
