The Xeed SX6 projector uses LCOS panels to deliver seamless, lattice-free images. The Canon Xeed SX6 model offer native SXGA+ (1400 x 1050) resolution to produce pin-sharp, highly detailed images. The Advanced AISYS technology in the latest Canon Xeed projector offers a high contrast ratio of 1000:1 - providing rich, deep tones and true blacks in dark areas. With a powerful 3500 lumens, the Xeed SX6 is capable of projecting very bright images even in large venues, such as exhibition halls, or in environments with high ambient light levels.
Three LCOS (Liquid Crystal on Silicon) panels - red, green and blue - allow the Xeed projector to produce smooth picture quality. 90% of panel surface area is active, compared to the 60% (approx.) of typical LCD panels: gaps between the transmissive LCD pixels used in conventional projectors result in images appearing as though covered in a fine mesh. With virtually no gaps between the pixels of LCOS panels, images produced are seamless: diagonal lines, fine details and text in presentations are reproduced with outstanding clarity. The liquid crystals allow LCOS projectors to reproduce fine gradients across the entire brightness range, ensuring subtle gradations are rendered clearly with exceptionally smooth grey scale displays.
Canon SX6 projector - AISYS technology
To overcome the cumbersome size and high cost of traditional LCOS projectors, Canon developed AISYS (Aspectual Illumination System), a unique optical illumination system incorporating LCOS technology into a remarkably compact body. By optimizing the light from the projector s lamp in relation to the characteristics of the LCOS panels and PBSs (Polarization Beam Splitter), AISYS achieves a lightweight and compact chassis without compromising on brightness and contrast. AISYS not only reduces the size of Xeed projectors, but by integrating Canon s unique technologies and LCOS panels into a single optimised system, it also overcomes the complications facing other LCOS projectors.
Canon SX6 projector - Automated functions
Set-up and control of the new Canon Xeed model has been made easier with a host of automated functions. The Auto Focus system measures the throw distance, projection angle and ambient temperature and sets the focus to the optimum position. Automatic Keystone Correction is available on the vertical axis, correcting trapezium distortion up to +/ 20 degrees. (Manual correction is also possible on both the vertical and horizontal axes.) With Auto Input selection the projector automatically detects the active input terminal and configures itself accordingly. Auto Screen Colour correction compensates for the colour of the projection surface to deliver a natural colour scheme. Frame Lock ensures correct synchronisation between computer and projector when presenting animated slide shows, eliminating interference and horizontal banding.
Canon Xeed SX6 - Lens excellence & HDCP support
The powered 1.7x zoom lens can be adjusted via remote control, and allows for flexible placement of the projector - achieving strong magnification with little distortion throughout the zoom range. The wide angle projection capability permits large image projection, even from short throw distances. The lens coating prevents ghosting and flare, maintaining optimum image quality. Furthermore, a reduction in fan noise has been achieved, the projector achieves 31dBA in Quiet Mode. With native SXGA+ resolution, the Xeed SX6 is fully capable of projecting High Definition (720p/1080i) images. The Canon Xeed projector is equipped with a DVI (Digital Visual Interface) port with HDCP (High Bandwidth Digital Content Protection) compatibility, ensuring that even encrypted digital content is displayed with exceptionally high quality.
Canon Xeed SX6 - Off and Go function & sRGB
The new Xeed model features an Off and Go function, to reduce waiting time once the projector has been turned off. When the power is switched off, the AC mains cable can be removed straight away, as the projector uses a built-in energy reserve to run the fans for its shut down cycle. In addition to providing outstanding value for the quality offered, the Xeed SX6 is also economical to run - in Quiet Mode the lamp has an ultra-long life of up to 4000 hours. Furthermore, the Canon SX6 projector features an sRGB mode, ensuring colour consistency with other sRGB compliant systems. Advantages: very reliable, long lasting lamps

In our office, we've been using this Canon Xeed SX6 for a solid 2 years now. It was installed on our conference room for use during meetings. Every time we had our meeting, we enter charge hooking our laptops to it and doesn't encounter much problem at all. The automatic input detection system of this device works well with different brands of laptops as well as computers.
Some very excellent functions that comes with this piece of equipment (from it's manual) which I found very useful are as follows :
1. Auto set-up Function, allows you to install the projector easily by automatically adjusting focus and keystone distortion.
2. Off and Go function. This means that you can immediately carry this projector right after each use for safekeeping because its fan keeps on rotating for a while even if the power cord is detached from the electrical outlet. The unit has an internal charging unit the keeps the fan running for a period of time in order to adequately cool the lamp to avoid damage.
3. Compact and easy-to-use remote control. All functions of this device can be access through a durable wireless remote control. I've drop it several times already (I wonder how many times it drops during its entire usage) and still it perfectly do its job very well.
4. Smooth and Beautiful Imaging Capability. Canons unique optical engine coupled with it LCOS (Liquid Crystal On Silicon) and its incorporation of AISYS assure the perfect and smooth images, very high brightness and high contrast ratio.
5. The weight is less than 5kg.
6. Super Silent operation. Even in a very tense situation or that moment where all of the meeting attendees suddenly stops talking and keep quite and just stare at the projector's screen, after the boss speak..LOL. We barely notice the noise this projector produces.
7. High Quality resolution. The projector can support up to 1024 by 768 dots. Pretty good for power point presentations.
8. High-powered 1.7X zoom Lens. This may come outdated for today's projectors but still can support a very clear 100 inch image output when place at a maximum distance of 5 meters.
9. Automatic functions. It's zooming capability also comes with an auto-focus function. Also have auto vertical keystone and auto wall color correction as well as auto input function.
10. Home Cinema Mode. Sometimes we watch video presentations and use this projector for our video conferences with full clarity like a full-scale movie. You can clearly see the other person's face and reaction to every issue tackled during a conference call/meeting.
11. Until now the units functions very well for 2 years now and still under warranty (at 3 years warranty). Lamp which is a very common problem for projectors is still working at its best. I have barely notice any change of its brightness, contrast, focus and resolutions.
It may not be the best in its class (if compared to today's upgraded versions) but I don't think this piece of equipment will be replaced with new one for another 2-3 years to come.
