Magnetized through thickness. Sold in pairs, one with N pole facing outside and the other with S pole facing outside. Heat rated to 300 degrees F. The "SH" represents a high heat rating. Standard neodymium magnets - those with no extra letter after the number rating - will produce their maximum strength up to 175 degrees F. These N40SH magnets will maintain full strength up to 300 degrees F - perfect for applications which require high heat tolerance - such as some motors.
