LTC1799 1KHZ to 33MHZ oscillator 555 timer alternative
This oscillator from Linear Technology Corporation allows generation of square waves from 1kHz to 33MHz, by appropriate selection of one resistor in conjunction with a three position switch controlling internal divide by one, divide by ten and divide by 100 options. It comes in an SOT-23/5 package, and works off a single 2.7 V to 5.5 V supply, typically at 1 mA supply current. For further details see manufacturer's datasheet.
By default this devices are supplied with square pins, but you can make a request for round pins. Square pins are suitable for breadboarding, and soldering direclty onto PCB's (requires 1mm via). Round pins are 0.5mm diameter and allow it to be plugged into a turned pin IC holder.
This chip comes pre-soldered on an SOT-23/5 adaptor.
