AlphaSmart Pro Word Processor ALF-C01 & Autism Tool
This is a used AlphaSmart Pro word processor for the Mac/IIGS and the PC. Model# ALF-C01. Manual is included but no cords are included for hooking up to computer. The Alphasmart Pro is a great portable, battery operated keyboard and word processor. It makes a perfect laptop for a school-aged student. Writers and journalists also love the portability of the Alphasmart Pro, as well as its ability to run on regular batteries. Type your document and then transfer the text to your computer. Using a PC to AlphaSmart cable, plug one end into the PC keyboard port and the other end into the AlphaSmart. Download into your word processing application.
Tested and clean. Uses 2 AA batteries.
It has been used as a tool help encourage communication for Autism. It was a great stepping stone for my nephew. They never plugged it into a computer. They just used it as a communication tool. Now he has moved on to a "real" computer.
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Any Apple personal computer with an Apple Desktop Bus (ADB) interface running System 6.x or 7 or later. (Not compatible with Apple IIe, Mac Plus or Mac 512). IBM or any compaitble PC running DOS, Windows, Windows 95 or OS/2. (Not compatible with older XT model PC's.)
