Helwig T57 motor brushes 5/8 x 1-1/4 x 2-1/8" 4" leads
We received these larger motor brushes in unused "as new" condition from
a source of water utility inventory stores spares. They are believed to fit larger GE
motors as used on elevators. In addition, they are a highly adaptable source of
electrographite for experimental uses such as electrochemistry or wherever
a conducting and low friction metallic free surface is needed.
Largest overall height is 2.13 inches. Width is 1.24 inches. Thickness is
0.62 inches. Four shunting leads are nearly 4 inches long and terminate
in a common angled spade lug intended for a 0.25 inch screw terminal.
Bottom angle is approximately 20 degrees. Top angle is approximately
30 degrees. An insulated block at top accepts a pressure spring.
Markings include HELWIG T57 6-89. The T57 material is believed to
be an electrographite in the 100 amps per square inch class.
