Machine Operation: The product is fed into the hopper, where it falls onto the exterior of the feed drum. The feed roll, located over the feed drum, can be adjusted for different product thickness. The feed roll meshes with the circular knives to ensure a positive transfer of the product to the knives. The product is then held flat between the drum and the roll and forced into the rotating circular knives, which cuts strips from the product. The circular knives engage slots in the surface of the drum, which allows for clean cutting and separation of the strips. The strip cut product is then removed from the circular knives by a stripper plate, which also acts as a shear edge for the crosscut knives. The product then moves into the crosscut knives for the second and final cut. This crosscut action also discharges the product.
This machine can cut product into 3/8" dice only.
This unique machine's internal components were manufactured by Urschel, while the exterior is constructed of a custom rebuilt housing. The attached cart allows for easy portability.
