This is a purpose precision made Brass Pyro Star Pump for making Pyrotechnic stars or comets.
It will make stars or comets just under 3/4ins diameter to fit into a standard 3/4ins inside diameter cardboard tube. The length of the star can vary depending on how much composition is put into the tube.
For those of you not familiar with using this tool, the process is simple. Just retract the piston into the tube, push into damp composition, compress by hand or with a mallet and eject the star with the piston.
