Dad had a 2 way radio rental system for some 40 years-went through the
tube type GE, then the hybrid GE tube/transistor, then finally the Johnson
60 watt and 100 watt Transcom radios. Still have a collection of most of them
laying around. There are some new parts for them still in stock, and this is
one of those. The radios could be mounted in the trunk, behind a pickup's seat,
anywhere out of sight, then just the head and speaker and tone unit on the dash.
This is the braket for the main body of the radio-measures about 9" deep, 8 1/4"
wide (8" inside width) and 2 3/4" high (2 3/8" inside height). The box was opened,
and the hardware packet had been robbed of the small 1/4" by 3/8" bolts. If you've
ever installed those radios, you know the bolts can't be too long or they'll hit some
of the circuitry inside. When the guys who leased radios would get new cars, they'd
give dad an hour or so to pull everything out of the old car, then another couple hours
with their new car before they'd be off doing their thing. I would imagine that he was
in a hurry on a job, and left the bolts in the old car, so he robbed them out of here.
I dug around in the parts room and found 4 unmatched bolts to include.
unless you're a collector-let me know, I'll have to tack on a little more
