I Originally Purchased These To Melt Scrap Silver. I Use My Oxygen Acetylene Torch With A larger Gas Welding Tip (I Hate Waiting On A Furnace) I Found You Can Melt (With Flux Added) About .750 Ounce Troy Of Silver With No Problem. I like Using These Crucibles Because They Transfer Heat Fast And Save Me On Gas And Oxygen Costs. The Recommended Use Is One Time, I Use Mine Until I Break Them. I Usually Drop Them. They Do Not Bounce Well!
Remember: Always Wear Eye Protection And Adequate Safety Attire When Working With Hot Or Molten Metals. Molten Metal Can Blow Back When Poured Into Molds. The Gasses And Vapors Emitted While smelting Can Be Harmful If Inhaled. Always Do Your Smelting Or Melting In A Well Ventilated Area. I Assume No Liability For Misuse Of these Crucibles Or The Flux. Use Them As You See Fit. Thank You.
