NEDSP1061-KBD low level audio DSP Noise Cancelling Module
Small pre-wired noise cancelling module retrofits into the low level audio path of many transceivers and receivers, incl Yaesu FT-817, FT-847, FT-897D & FR-G100, Kenwood TS50 & TS440, Alinco DX-77, Icom 706 MKIIG & 736/738, 765, AOR AR7030, and Realistic DX-394.

Supplied with excellent fitting instructions. Third party fitting instructions not included in the manual can be sent with the module or downloaded from the bhi amateur radio website linked from the bhi main website home page.
Level controls are provided for input level and audio output level. The module features an overload LED on the audio input to give visual indication of the correct signal level. The volume level of the beeper can also be adjusted.
The fitting of the bhi NEDSP1061-KBD module may involve the removal of small surface mount components and the drilling out of the transceivers case. This should only be carried out by a qualified engineer. bhi accepts no responsibility for the fitting or installation of the NEDSP1061-KBD module and are not liable for any damage to equipment caused by its fitment. Fitting this module may invalidate your warranty.

LED indication of DSP level and status
Operation: All functions of the NEDSP1061-KBD are controlled by a single button.
Single press turns the noise cancellation on/off.
Holding down the button changes the DSP filter level.
The mode of operation is indicated both visually and audibly. The LED is illuminated red when the noise cancellation is off.
When the noise cancellation level is changed the LED will flash green to indicate which level has been selected. Simultaneously the DSP will beep to give audible indication of DSP level. This allows the operator to change the DSP level without having to look at the LED to see which level has been selected. A short beep is emitted to acknowledge a button press. The module will store the current DSP level, and will return to this level when the equipment is switched on.
"Once I d used the bhi Noise Reduction module fitted to the FT- 817 for a while, I must say that I feel the combination is a winner. Not only on HF, but also on VHF and UHF, the system works well in improving receive signals that little bit more, often making the difference between a very noisy signal and one that s readable with little or no difficulty . It obviously won t get rid of adjacent frequency interference or strong-signal overload problems, that s up to the IF filters and other performance aspects in your receiver. But when you re using this QRP FT-817 transceiver to communicate with other, typically weak and noisy QRP stations, the bhi add-on DSP filter system could be worth its weight in gold."
