Adrian special shoe-fitting-fluoroscope-1950's

This is a fluoroscope machine from the 1950's. Thompson's Shoe Store, in Snyder, TX bought it new when he opened his doors in 1955. Then when the government banned their use around 1960 it was unplugged and moved into a storage room where it stayed until 2004. The salesman who used it told me it worked great when it was stored.
Just in case you do not know what a fluoroscope machine is I will tell you. The machine, X-ray's a person's feet to see if the shoes they want fit. You put on the shoes and stick your feet into the machine then the machine is turned on and bingo your feet are X-rayed. You see how much room there is on the sides and toe area.
There is a great deal of Texas dust on it but the finish on the wood is still beautiful. The plug was cut off because they were banned. This machine should not ever be used but would make a great old piece for a shoe store or whatever. Remember the machine would be for display only. It should never be plugged in and any attempt to use it could and probably would be hazadarus to your health. It is certainly a piece of history and there are not many left as most were destroyed.
This is extremely heavy so you will have to pick it up. To get it in a truck requires a fork lift, which we have available on our tractor. It is 39 inches high, 24 1/2 inches wide and 38 inches deep.
