1935 john deere bn unstyled tractor b spoke wheels an a
* 1 of the only 93 John Deere unstyled BN's made in 1935 with the improved 8-Bolt Front End.

This would make a great project tractor as the motor is stuck from sitting but its in fairly clean shape as you can see for being 75 years old this year. Rims and valve stems all in good shape. Hub # is HC 777 D. This tractor came to sw Oregon there from the 2nd owner who bought it over several years ago from the now 82 year old son of the original owner. The 82 year old son is still alive there in sw Oregon. Has its original teardrop loop drawbar as you can see and original magneto and DLTX-10 carb. too. Full seat assembly is there and stored inside and we had it outside for the pictures as shown above.

See the last 2 EXAMPLE Pictures above to show you a historial photo and also a nice restored one from a collector book of rare John Deere tractors called "Classic John Deere Tractors" by Randy Leffingwell. The other BN in that last photo that's painted nice is a 1937 BN I found a picture of from a show or museum that has a fairly rare 2-way plow on it. This 1937 model BN would be a long hood B vs. the early 1935 and 1936 short hood B's which sell for more all things being equal.

From the John Deere Collectors Guide - "Wheatland farmers had admitted the "A" but asked for a standard-tread version because they did not need adjustable wheels. Row-crop farmers admired features of the "A" but asked for a smaller tractor, more suited to their power needs. In 1935, John Deere answered with the "B". Literature of the day described it as "...two-thirds the size of the "A" in power and weight. It has all of the advanced John Deere General Purpose features- adjustable wheel tread, ample clearance, excellent vision, easy steering, convenient controls, individually controlled rear wheel brakes, comfortable seat, roomy platform and four forward speeds on the early models."
The B's had 4 Forwards and 1 Reverse on the unstyled and styled B's up until 1940. After serial # 96000 then they had 6 Forwards/1 Reverse.
"The B is somewhat in more demand than the larger Deere's (of this era) because of its smaller size and lower weight. This makes it easier to store and trailer. Thus a John Deere B will usually fetch more than a equivalent A and makes a great, handy and useful collector tractor."
