The four channel pics are of a fast rise signal (<200ps, much faster than this scope), as all for channels are getting the same signal there is likely too much loading for the signal to truly be that fast, but still faster than the scope. The signal path itself between channels is probably effecting rise time from channel to channel; so don t read too much into that. I do have a pic of a single channel getting that signal for reference.
I also show a square wave with normal acquisition, can t see any glitch, and DPO. In DPO you can actually constantly see glitches but it is darn hard to catch them with the camera. However, with persistence turned up, in seconds, the screen is full of problems. If you turn DPO off, and set the normal display mode to infinite persistence, like most other scopes would operate, its square wave looks great over time Truly it is NOT.
Difference between this scope and earlier InstaVu scopes. There is something about the color grading that is much nicer, than on my 784C. It switches to DPO or back to normal display mode almost instantly.
Let me be more clear about this. If you go to DPO mode on a 700A, it takes a fair amount of time to make this transition; if your use to a newer machine, you ll first think there is something wrong with the scope. On a 700C scope, this transition is much faster, the scope no longer operates as if the processor is over burdened. On a 700D, the transition is almost instant.
This is the first 700D I ve had, the apex of the Tek TDS700 series, and I must say that it is truly nicer to operate than the earlier scopes. It s pretty sweat.
This scope has HD Hard Drive option with the TDS java runtime environment V1.2 and TDSJITV2, 2M long wave form memory, 1F floppy drive option (was able to save to then read a waveform), 2F math package/FFT option, and 13 color display option; or maybe that was the printer ports, I forget, it has both.
I have ran both the self tests and the SPC numerous times without issue.
