The unique clamshell design of this training manikin helps instructors save valuable training time by making setting up, transporting, packing up, and inserting a face shield lung bag quick and easy.
A built-in clicker mechanism helps students learn to use the right amount of force to compress the chest to the correct depth, and the patented face/head tilt that simulates the way an actual victim's head would move helps students learn how to open the airway during CPR.
Prestan Professional Adult CPR-AED Training Manikin (w/o CPR Monitor) features:
* a clamshell torso that opens effortlessly and lets the user easily slip the face shield lung bag down through the mouth, out the neck, and over the compression plate, and attach it to clips on either side of the head
* a built-in clicker mechanism that sounds when the student has used sufficient force to compress the chest to the recommended depth
* patented face/head tilt, designed to teach correct head tilt/chin lift to open the airway (if performed improperly, the head falls forward and closes the airway - a good way to remind students to open the airway every time they go in to give a breath)
* molded, plyable skin that is realistic to the eye and touch; resists dirt, grime, and grease; is durable and easy to clean; and allows AED pads to adhere to the manikin without leaving adhesive residue behind
* realistic head features, including a pinchable nose and a prominent jawline for simulation of jaw thrust technique
* realistic torso with prominent collarbones, an accurate nipple line, obvious xiphoid process, rib-cage lines, breastbone structure, an upper chest sized for the easy application of AED pads, and navel placement that make it easy for instructors to teach abdominal thrusts

Q: Can you perform the Heimlich maneuver on Prestan manikins?
A: Yes. The manikin is designed with a slightly longer torso and a visible navel that work well for the Heimlich maneuver, and the head is attached in such a way that it doesn't jerk back and forth during the maneuver.
