Analog devices AD8314 detector/controller 100MHZ-2.7GHZ

Analog Devices AD8314 RF 100MHz-2.7GHz Detector/Controller
The AD8314 is part of the same family as the well-known AD8307 with a similar cascaded amp/rectifier configuration, but designed for a higher frequency band and with additional capabilities for RF power control. It is aimed at the handheld radio market (esp. mobile & cordless phones) but has broader applications. With a 100MHz .. 2.7GHz bandwidth they cover the frequency range from VHF through UHF to low microwave, being suitable for 2m, 70cm, 23cm and 13cm band ham equipment as well as 2.4GHz WiFi. Response is independent of power supply variations, with operation from 2.7V to 5.5V at ~ 4.5mA. As usual with AD chips, the datasheet is excellent.
The detector section is suitable for use as in an RF power meter, field strength meter, power-head for spectrum analyser, (microwave oven leakage detector ? ;-). The Vup output gives an output voltage proportional to the log of the input voltage and a range of around 45dB, which can be extended using an attenuator. As part of a tranceiver they can drive a Transmitted and/or Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI/TSSI). Based on logarithmic amplifiers these chips provide a much wider dynamic range than simpler detectors based on diodes and are more accurate (even with wide temperature variations).
The 8 pin MSOP package is small but still manageable with good magnification and small soldering iron tip. The other available package is even smaller ... as with many chips now these are not produced in the DIP or SOIC sizes.
I've only a small quantity of these ... so here's your chance ...
