But let us be honest, in the current economic climate you have most likely come here because you are worried about the future, perhaps only a little bit, and that may not be the main reason you are looking at this page, but at the back of your mind is the nagging fear that you will have to do something to insure that this time next year you are not living in a cardboard box under some railway bridge somewhere. And this is a wise precaution. Even if you currently have a job, you know that there is no certainty that the company you work for will still be in business six months from now. Only those companies who are prepared for the future will survive, and you have no way of knowing if your company has taken adequate precautions for when this downturn gets worse. So you know that you have to protect yourself from the downturn, no one is going to do it for you, and you have to protect yourself NOW.
No one can visit every single site on the Internet, there are billions of web pages out there. And even if someone tried, new websites are being created faster than a human being can look at them. Websites are like shops, say, for example, Tesco. Nearly everyone shops at Tesco at some point in their life (one in three pounds spent in Britain is spent in Tesco). But they don't all shop in the same Tesco store. Imagine if Tesco had only one shop, positioned centrally in, let's say Birmingham. The people in Birmingham would use it, but people in places like London and Edinburgh would never even have heard of Tesco. So Tesco has lots of stores, all over the country. That way everyone can find one, and everyone can shop at Tesco.
The Internet is an even bigger place than any one country. Even the most avid Internet surfer will never visit more than a teeny tiny fraction of 1% of the websites available. For every person who visits my really good websites and spends money, millions, probably billions, of people don't even know it exists. Like Tesco, I need lots and lots of websites, clones of the main site, like the stores Tesco runs.
