Sound technology 1710A distortion measurement system
This is a SOUND TECHNOLOGY 1710A DISTORTION MEASUREMENT SYSTEM. It has the following options installed:
Option 003 - Automatic Set Level.
Option 004 - Intermodulation Distortion Analyzer.
Option 005 - Not sure. Possibly the IMD SYNC or EXTERNAL FILTERS feature on the rear panel.
Option 007 - Not sure. Possibly the IMD SYNC or EXTERNAL FILTERS feature on the rear panel.
The 1710A system combines an ultra-low distortion oscillator, a high-resolution automatic-measuring distortion analyzer and an accurate AC-level meter in one instrument. The 1710A was Sound Technologies top of the line Distortion Measurement System and was designed for use in strong RF environments. The generator has a balanced output and can also be configured to single ended output.
The photos show the 1710A set up to do the basic Performance Check as described in the manual. This test measures the overall distortion of the system, with the distortion from both the generator and the distortion analyzer contributing to the result. The resulting distortion is reading 0.0015 % THD, well below the specification for this test. When I did the Performance Check for the IMD section, the result was also well below specification.
I have been using this instrument and it is fully functional.
Item is in good physical condition, see photos. There is a bent area in the bottom cover at one of the front feet locations, see photo. The rear feet are missing.
My reason for selling: I am in the process of downsizing plus I don't use it enough now to justify keeping it.
Item is from a climate controlled non smoking environment.
