Techne genius thermal cyclers with user manual
Designed for large scale screening and genome investigations, the Genius thermal cyclers from Techne provide speed and performance to laboratories with high throughput requirements. These models complete an average 30-cycle program in under an hour, so that you can perform several PCR runs in a single workday.
The standard processor accepts incremental and decremental time and temperature programming, permitting you to heat or cool samples to a programmed temperature and hold them to intervals as tight as one second or as long as 99 hours. PRT sensor for excellent temperature stability and uniformity-Genius thermal cyclers have temperature control of 0.5 C over a range of 4 to 99 C, with precision of 0.2 C. Programmable ramp rate varies from 1 C to 60 C per minute. Enter up to 99 programs, with as many as 9 segments and 99 repeat cycles per program.

In addition, you can add the PCR Help or GENSOFT accessory software packages for linking your unit(s) to your PC. These applications add ease of programming, even more flexibility, and the ability to link up to 32 Genius units together or to interface with a robotics system (see GENSOFT and PCR Help descriptions and ordering information, page 705).
Genius models feature a variety of interchangeable blocks that allow you to change from one type to another quickly and with no tools. Purchase additional block types separately, including sizes for 0.5mL microcentrifuge tubes; 0.2mL micro tubes; 96-well V-bottom plates; 96, 192, and 384-well microplates; and flat plates for in situ applications.
Genius thermal cyclers feature a standard heated lid that minimizes sample reflux within the tubes. Its spring activated design adjusts for the difference in tube sizes between the interchangeable blocks, and maintains contact with every tube in a block.
