Similar in appearance and operation to the IVAC 580 series, these devices have increased accuracy to 5 %. Both have linear peristaltic operation, integral pole clamp, secondary infusion capability, computer interface, dose limit, and are housed in a lightweight impact resistant plastic insulated housing. The 590 requires a drop sensor, while the 599 runs without.
