Vintage general electric motor for teletype machine

General Electric Motor for Teletype Machine
This vintage motor came from a Teletype machine, you know, the mechanical typewriter that was used by the industry before inkjets and laser printers. The Teletype Machine was the workhorse for large companies that needed quick and reliable printouts and lots of it. The Teletype Corporation in Chicago used a General Electric motor like this one to power the typewriter machines that they built for the large companies, not the general public. The Teletype Machines were efficient and reliable and could spit out more than 300 words per minute.
This motor came from a Teletype Machine that was used by "Ma Bell". The serial number is 19193 and the motor unit number is 28A. The model number is 5SC19LG3 and Teletype Spec. S 9071. The motor is used, it runs good and the gears are in good shape. It runs on regular household current (116V 60 cycle).
