HUGE!!! Spectacular Carved Mahogany Birdcage / Aviary - Gorgeous and in Excellent Condition!
59" w x 59" D x 8'6 1/2" H. It would be the center piece and look phenominal in your large home, mansion, hotel or restaurant and make a huge and lasting impression on your guests. Pictures rarely do anything justice - if something looks impressive in a picture it is generally breathtaking in person which is certainly true about this birdcage! Everyone that see's it is amazed and in awe. You will probably never see another one like it, or one more impressive. Excellent condition - nothing is broken, damaged or missing. From a smoke free and pet free home (we've never had birds in it - we bought it as a gorgeous piece of furniture). This could hold a dozen or more birds easily depending on the size of the birds.
It is solid Mahogany - no veneer anywhere. It is just loaded with beautiful details and hand carving. It has arches, moldings, turnings, carvings, fluted columns, carved capitols, turned and carved finials, spindled gallery rails, patterned shingles on the roof surfaces are all hand carved in solid mahogany not just applied - [(1) side roof panel w/ shingles has a crack in it - which is pictured]. It is symmetrical and equally detailed and carved on each side (so it can be in the center of a room and not just up against a wall). The front side has (2) large drawers that pull out to clean the cage (the droppings drop through the wire bottom into lined drawers that pull out for easy cleaning). There are (4) functional doors that open to access the inside - (1) on each side in the center (shown behind the water goblet which is 6" high to give a sense of scale). There are (5) domes on top with great finials on each that the birds can fly into (1) large center dome that is removable for moving (or to reach into the center of the cage) - held in place w/ pins and (4) smaller domes on each of the corners [the dome in the front right corner has a little lean to it - all others are straight].
If you would like to see this in person - you would be welcome to do so - just contact me to set up a time. You could then realize it's true size, beauty and incredible details.
Note: This comes apart into 3 sections for moving (as shown in picture #2) - The base (57 1/2"w x 57 1/2"d x 25 1/2" h), the center/ main cage (59"w x 59"d x 54 3/4" h), and the top center dome (19" d x 37"h). Weight is approx. 125 - 150 lbs (estimated).
