Canberra HT1000 alpha/beta Gas Proportional System
For sale- a Canberra HT1000 alpha/beta gas proportional system. Actually to call this a system would probably be a misnomer, what is offered here is the controller/CPU/MCA. At least that would be my guess anyway. This piece was sold to me with another Canberra unit that was perhaps the sample chamber, although I don t know for certain it was even supposed to go with the unit sold here.
From what little I can find on the HT 1000 it is used to measure airborne radioactive particulate, and I am not at all certain that the other piece was designed to handle a gas, the sample tray looked like it was designed for small solid samples. So if there is supposed to be another part to this system I don t have it. What you see is pretty much what you will get (not including the monitor).
What you will get appears to be a two part system, with the lower portion a 486DX2 computer holding a proprietary Canberra 8100 Multi Channel Analyzer MCA board. The computer portion connects to the piece on top with a single ribbon cable. If you remove that the piece on top can be taken off entirely, revealing a circuit board marked Canberra Model 1520. As you can see in the picture of the back both sections have a separate AC input, so I will include two AC cords if you remind me.
The computer system powers up and gets to a point where it asks for a boot disk that I DO NOT have. That is the extent of the testing and no warranty is offered. Please check out my other listings for more interesting lab and optical equipment. I have another Canberra piece, a Radiomatic model for checking liquid radioactivity, that I will try to get posted as soon as I can find it. That one has a boot disk, possibly that would work here? Check back often!
