Vintage stanley knight soda fountain ice cream parlor

The old Soda Jerk would look right at home here. This would look great in any diner, coffee shop, ice cream parlor shop, restaurant, or even as a movie or television prop. It really should have a place of honor in a museum, as people's mouths drop open when they see it. I wish I could keep it, but we are forced to sell.
It is 48" deep from left edge to right edge. It is standard 32" deep and the work surface is the standard height of 34".
* Two soda taps, with drain. One tap is currently set up with a hard line for cold water, but can be converted to soda.
* A large and very clean interior refrigerated cold bin, with a removable sliding tray under one door. The tray is original as are the doors. The interior is shiny and rust free.
* 3 ceramic/porcelain topping containers/jars with lids, knobs, labels and the serving spoons, all original. Each topping lid knob has a flavor listed, as seen through a small glass on the knob. The delicate paper labels under the glass are still intact. They can be removed and new paper labels printed and inserted. The flavors listed are Strawberry, Pineapple, and Cherry. They all look like they are original paper labels. The jars all look very clean inside. The jars have rounded interior corners, for sanitary use.
* 7 ceramic/porcelain syrup well containers/jars with pumps, all original. One of the pumps is the one for chocolate, which takes a different type of pump due to its thickness. These are all original. Each pump has a knob with a flavor listed, as seen through a small glass on the knob. The delicate paper labels under the glass are still intact and seem to be original. They can be removed and new paper labels printed and inserted. The current labels are chocolate, vanilla, root beer, lemon, raspberry, peach, and a second vanilla. They do not look like they have ever been replaced. The jars are all very clean inside. These also have rounded interior corners.
* The hot tap, reservoir, removable basket, and drain for rinsing ice cream scoopers and keeping them warm
The soda fountain looks wider/longer in person than in the picture, so check the measurements below.
Other items in the pictures such as decorative signs, the 3 compartment sink, or the matching wall mounted stainless steel wall shelf's are not included in this purchase. The 2 stainless steel wall mounted shelf's with a curved edge are available for sale though if you need them to help complete the look. The 3 compartment sink has sold locally and is not available.
SIZE: The main soda fountain measures 32" deep x 48" wide and the work surface is the standard height of 34". It fits right into the shape and size of other standard commercial restaurant prep tables, sinks, counters, etc.
CONDITION and RESTORATION: I am not an expert at grading this, the pictures tell the story so look closely, but here is what I can tell you. A few years ago we started a project to save this valuable piece of soda fountain history, as it did have some issues when we landed up with it.
Vented grate covering the compressor area on the front had gotten stained, was damaged on one corner, and was missing a mounting bracket so it would not hang straight. We had it repaired and had the stainless steel of the whole unit on its face side cleaned up by a professional shop and it looks better than we imagined, like when it was new.
Legs (2) were damaged with age and we had them repaired.
Insulation in the cold bin was rotting and falling out so we replaced. It was Styrofoam panels, so it dripped little beads out all the time even though the insulation was sandwiched between stainless steel. The the pros removed and replaced the insulation with current fiberglass they use in commercial equipment.
Compressor was removed by a refrigeration shop and a new one installed. The compressor we removed was not the original, or we would have saved it.
The exterior stainless steel, and interior cold bin was cleaned up and is in terrific sparkling condition.
One of the porcelain syrup container looks like it was broken near the top at one time, and glued back together. The break is high enough that it does not affect the bins ability to hold liquid. Some other containers may have a tiny chip or two, but they look great for their age. The containers are not visible except for a small portion near the top. They are all very clean. I have not tested any of the syrup pumps, as you need a lot of syrup to get these started. The pumps were not used while we had it.
The tiny glass window on one of the syrup pump knob labels is cracked.
The sides and rear are not stainless steel, and are usually not exposed in most settings, so they do not look as nice and there may be some minor stains or rust, we have cleaned it up but you may want to do more if the right side is exposed. But the "show" areas of stainless steel all look great.
The lids to the big cold bin has a refrigerator gasket material where they fold, almost works like a hinge, and it is the original material. If it is to be used daily this material should be replaced someday, although it still works.
I loaded the maximum amount of pictures you can load here at 12, but can email a few more if you need to see them.
HOME OR DISPLAY USE: If you want to use it as eye candy, something to drool over like we did, it is perfect like it is and ready to go.
PROFESSIONAL USE and COMPLETION: If you plan to use this soda fountain a commercial enterprise as a fully functioning cold soda fountain that serves soda and keeps ice cream cold, it is almost completely restored, but will still need a few things.
* The tubing for freon (or whatever they use these days), still needs to be installed from the new compressor into the cold bin according to the company that installed the compressor. The lines to and from the compressor are original and have not been replaced, so replacing that copper refrigerator tubing may be a restoration item. The places that do this for modern restaurant equipment are the proper place for this work.
* And as with all refrigerated equipment that hold cold products, the drain line kits from the soda taps drain, ice cream bin drain, and scoop hot tap reservoir overflow will have to be set up, not an expensive issue either as standard size plumbing pieces would be used.
We reserve the right to end the item early as it is also for sale in the local area.
