Anritsu ML524C 25-1000MHz Measuring Receiver
The ML524C Measuring Receiver is a miniaturized measuring receiver capable of measuring the voltage level with high resolution of 0.1dB over a wide frequency range of 25 to 1000MHz. The ML524C can be used not only as a field strength meter in conjunction with a measuring antenna, but also as a general-purpose AM/FM monitoring receiver.
Applications include micro-voltage measurements of RF bridges, impedance meters etc and field-strength measurements for antenna testing, interference troubleshooting etc as well as general monitoring usage.
This receiver is in good electrical and mechanical condition but it has a fault. The receiver does not work over 300MHz most of the time (but occasionally it will work fine for weeks on end). It is therefore being sold for SPARES OR REPAIR only.
The receiver will be supplied with original Operating and Service Manuals, carrying bag and 12V power lead with PowerPole connector. The battery pack is missing.
Unfortunately I do not have the time to debug the problem so we are presenting this as a project for someone else. The service manual is very detailed with full schematics and parts lists as well as well as troubleshooting and repair sections so this should be fixable. The unit uses through-hole components with few, if any, SMT devices so is easy to work on.
For those of you not familiar with Anritsu they are the main Japanese competitor to HP (Agilent) and Rohde & Schwarz and their kit is built to the same bullet-proof standards.

Voltage 2dB V to 100dB V (noise-floor typically -10dB V)
Field strength -5dB V/m to 120dB V/m
