Chapter 1 describes the general chemical and physical nature of cast iron. Chapter 2 consists of a review of the important properties of cast iron. Chapter 3 serves to guide the design engineer when a casting is to be designed and materials and process specifications are to be shown on a drawing. Chapter 4 is a tabulation of specific applications for cast iron. Chapter 5 may be considered a supplement in which theories relating to properties and preferred practices are discussed completely." Many charts, tables, diagrams, drawings and photos augment the text.
