The Leica 10440 also features one of the most durable designs to withstand the roughest of environments. After repeated drop tests, the IFT10 does not break and scales will not fall out of place. All optics are completely sealed to keep lenses free of condensation and dirt. The body and sample cover are made of durable xenoy polymer for a lightweight, portable design.
The Leica 10440 features automatic temperature compensation to ensure that readings are correct at any temperature. Leica guarantees accurate readings between 0 F and 104 F - no other refractometer can do that. Non-temperature compensated refractometers are only accurate at 68 F. Any temperature higher than that will give false readings on a non-temperature compensated instrument. This could mean that parts are not meeting specs and you are spending more in tooling costs and wasted coolants. This will not happen with the Leica 10440.
