The WS-6 downflow ductless workstation is designed to offer a safe working environ-ment for applications such as acid etching, heat sealing, soldering, and other applica-tions that could create hazardous byproducts, says the company. The unit draws fumes and vapors down and away from the operator, making the application safer, the company says. Multiple units can be linked to form an extended, multi-operator work area. Features include a quiet, low-speed fan, fluorescent lighting, and a removable stainless steel tray for easy cleaning, the manufacturer says.

The Downflow Workstation is a stand alone, ductless unit that protects workers from powders or fumes. The unit s open design allows for close inspection of samples while maintaining a high level of operator protection. Particles or fumes are drawn downward through the stainless steel work surface and contaminants are removed by a series of filters. After the fumes or powders are filtered, the clean air is returned to the room.
Design features include a durable aluminum frame with a powder-coated exterior for corrosion resistance. The work surface is stainless steel and is removable for easy cleaning. A pressure switch for indicating when filters need replacement is standard in addition to an internal fluorescent light.
