Know when your RFID system is radiating! No batteries required!
also known as a RAT (Radiation Activity Tester) or RATs
When an RFID system works, it seems like magic. When it doesn t the user has no idea why the magic doesn t perform. An RFID reader might have suffered a hardware failure, a triggering sensor may not be working, or communications with a back-end system may have been interrupted. The first question that always occurs is whether the system is radiating.
The RFID Detector card is used by holding it in close proximity to your portal antenna (few inches to a foot depending on the output wattage of the antenna). If the antenna is radiating energy, the LED lights up.
2) Priceless installation and diagnostic tool
3) Works with all UHF RFID systems (including EU ETSI-compliant systems)
3) Gives a positive indication that each antenna is operating
3) Bright Blue LED is visible even in the brightest sunlight
6) Completely passive no batteries required
7) Environmentally friendly and completely passive because it doesn t require batteries
Holding the card by the long edges, move it towards the antenna parallel to the plane of the RFID antenna. If the RFID antenna is active, the center of the card will light up with a blue light. Depending on the antenna and the power level radiated by the RFID system, the light will illuminate as far as 2 feet from the antenna.
In a multi-antenna system, the light will blink on and off at the switching rate of the antenna system as the card is put into each antenna field.
If the RFID system is triggered by an external sensor, the triggering can be checked by putting the card in the normal field of the antenna and triggering the sensor on and off.
