The MJ Research PTC-100 is a 96 well thermocycler that incorporates precise Peltier-effect heat pumps to deliver a temperature range of 0-100 C electronically, in a compact instrument with a footprint that measures only 24cm x 28cm x 27cm high. This unit has ramping rates of up to 1.4 /sec and temperature homogeneity of 0.4 C within 30 seconds of arrival @ 60 C. This unit also has the optional "Hot Bonnet" heated lid for oil-free operation. The Hot Bonnet heated lid incorporates a thumbwheel to adjust height and pressure, and assures tight sealing of reaction vessels during oil-free thermal cycling. This unit also features ports for an in-sample probe and a chart recorder, and a parallel printer interface. Programming features include adjustable ramp rates and the ability to step durations and temperatures in successive intervals within a program sequence.
