Doppler systems DDF6000 radio direction finding system
This is a barely used Doppler Systems Radio Direction Finder. This unit was used for several years as a demo unit in a stolen vehicle recovery system. The unit comes with an Icom IC-F2020 UHF 450-470MHz transceiver that is used as the RF receiver for the direction finder. Also comes with a UHF (300-500MHz) fixed-site direction finding antenna array and mount as shown in the pictures. Also included but not pictured is a brand new (about 150 foot long) control cable that connects the DF unit to the antenna array and a 20 foot length of RG58 coax (for testing) that runs from the receiver to the antenna array. Also available from Doppler Systems is free remote triangulation system software that allows you to connect this DF unit to a computer and DF on a computerized map display.
This is a very sophisticated and capable radio direction finding system and is the same unit that is currently being used by several 3-letter government agencies in far away places to intercept radio signals of those undesirable people who whish to do harm to the US and its interests. Also used by the US Coast Guard for some of there new Rescue 21 coastal stations.
I should also point out that the included Icom receiver is just one receiver solution that has worked well for us but this DF unit can work with almost any narrow band receiver. If you need to direction find signals on other frequency band outside of the 300-500MHz band, then you would need a different DF antenna, available from Doppler Systems. They also have mobile antennas available so that this unit can be used in a vehicle for mobile tracking applications.
