Lead hammer for use with south bend lathe, logan, atlas

This wood handled Lead hammer weights about a pound and is ideal for use with a lathe. An old machinist showed me this trick. I do not know why it works, but it does work and works well. A three jaw chuck will almost never center the work perfectly true. When you turn the lathe on you will see a slight wobble. However, if you lightly tap the spinning work piece with a lead hammer you will see the wobble all but disappear. Because, lead is soft a lead hammer will not mar the work piece. A lead hammer will also come in handy for lightly adjusting other parts of the lathe like tool posts. It can also be used with a rod to knock out centers from the head
